A week in grand Cayman - November 2012
Cast
Me – Abi, 27 Husband – Aaron, 26 I should start off by telling you that this trip was a freebie! The company I work with reached a sales target set by one of our suppliers and to show their appreciation they gave us 2 plane tickets and a 6 night stay in their Seven Mile Beach condo. Its a completely different holiday to anything we would ever have booked. We love Florida & Vegas and city breaks where there’s lots to do. A beach holiday in the Caribbean have never been high on our must do list. I did a lot of research and by the time the holiday came round we were very excited and looking forward to the trip a lot! We were flying with BA, Heathrow – Grand Cayman via Nassau and we decided to hire a car for the entire trip as we wanted to explore the island. We were looking forward to the food (a lot of American Style restaurants), the turtle farm and most of all stingray city, a shallow reef where wild but tame stingrays come in to feed from you. We had discovered that there was a Hard Rock café and a Margaritaville, two of our favourite restaurants when in the USA and while we are also up for trying local restaurants/cuisines we planned a meal at each of these. We also planned to visit Smiths cove, a locals beach, Hell, a small comically named town where you can send a postcard and the botanical gardens which are home to some blue iguanas. With all that planned and only 6 days to do it we figured there wouldn’t be that much time after all for lounging around on the beach! I have tried to keep track of spends where possible, it’s a VERY expensive place to visit! Edited at 09:43 AM. |
