My friend died
Not if anyone remembers me talking about her?
I went to Athens to look after her for a week while she was having chemo? She was a second mum to me over in corfu with my own being in the uk. We did a video chat on tuesday morning before we got married so she saw us all dressed up She was so happy her "daughter" was getting married. I didn't know she had gone downhill so quickly though Won't be able to be at her funeral on Thursday, feel like I've let her down.

Aw that’s awful really sorry to hear. I’m sure she would want you to carry on and enjoy your honeymoon as much as possible. Maybe you could do something special on Thursday - maybe release a mickey balloon and have some nice quiet time thinking of her x

OP. I well remember your posts about this Lady and how you were helping her in her time of need.
Having just had such an exciting time and set your stall for the future you have had devastating news. But, do you think your friend waited until you had gone away? It wouldn't suprise if she did. You did what you felt was right, you did what a lot of people wouldn't have done and now you need to focus on the positives of the relationship you both had as friends. Don't beat yourself up over not being there as she wouldn't have wanted that. At the appropriate time on Thursday find a quiet place, sit down on a wall and raise a glass of water to your friend as that is what she would want, not tears or self doubt. Take care.

So sorry to hear this, I can’t imagine how upsetting the news must have been for you. As others have said though, I am sure your friend would understand why you can’t be at the funeral and would be so pleased to know you are happy and celebrating your wedding and honeymoon.
Cherish your memories of the good times together on Thursday and as others have said, take time and do something special to say a private goodbye to her, with a toast to her. |

So sorry to read this. I'm sure your friend would have wanted you to enjoy your honeymoon. She will have loved the fact that she got to see you in your wedding dress. Take care and remember the good times. I love the idea of doing something special for her on Thursday as a previous poster suggested.
