Cigarettes buy here at airport or in Florida? Cost?

Hi, I don't smoke but my mum does She has asked me to see if anyone knows if it is cheaper to buy at the airport or in Florida. She smokes mayfair superking but I dont think she is too fussy.

So is it cheaper to buy at Glasgow airport - any ideas how much?

Or is it cheaper to buy in Florida - again any ideas how much?

Also duty free allowance for cigarettes any ideas?

My uncle has asked me to buy cigars for him also - again any ideas on duty free allowance?

Hi

Probably cheaper in florida I bought them a couple of years ago in Rac Trac Garage near Old Town Kissimmee 200 was about $20.00 but they were on offer with about $5.00 off

Airport Prices roughly £29 - £35 for 200. or 400 £48 - £50 2011 prices.

Would like to know as well - We are there shortly Woo Hoo

Be careful if you are flying indirect you will need to buy them on the second leg your return flight (or at the second airport)

Stopped smoking 5 months ago! But always cheaper to buy at UK airport or on plane if Virgin cost I think was around £40-£45 for 400 Superkings

Duty free allowance into US and UK is 200 per adult

Usually cheaper on the aircraft but be careful, they didn't have any 400's left so I said I would have 2x200 which would have been £6 more expensive! Dh dug me in the ribs to warn me. Ended up buying Malboro Ultra Light Menthol in Publix which were very acceptable and about £25 for 200.

Are you sure this is right, as if you read this thread i did here - http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=545790 asking about cigarettes for my DSIL. 'Josephus fl' (post number 9) gives advice regarding buying Cigarettes in the UK & says it is allowed even with a connecting flight! He used to work for BAA at Heathrow so i presume he knows his stuff!

Just come back from Florida. I pre ordered and paid for mine with virgin retail therapy ( look on virgin Atlantic website for the phone number as you have to ring them) before I went. They cost me £29 for 400 mayfair kingsize which I collected on the plane.

Thats what i'm going to do as you also get air miles if you pre order.

I bought Mayfair (don't think they had superkings) for my sisters at MCO, think they were about $33 for 200.
