Update: Car hire booked!

Im on a roll, I've just secured car hire ofr the LA / Las Vegas part of the trip.

I took Dibbers advise & booked via Virgin to avoid the one way charge.

We are collection on the 28th March at LAS & dropping of on 5th April at LAS. The price was £257.00 which includes breakdown cover and an additional driver. There is also no one way fee

I have gone for a intermediate SUV so we will likely get some kind of Rav 4 or Jeep.

Update: UK hotel booked!

Well, I wasn't expecting to book this today but I just had a quick peek at our favourite Premier Inn (Trafford Center West) and it was priced at £34.50 a night for our date in March! I couldn't believe it. I normally have to wait until the sale & then even struggle sometimes to get a good rate at that one. So I booked!

£71.00 for 2 rooms, 1 night.

Update: Vegas hotel booked!

I've secured the New York, New York hotel for our time in Vegas. It's on my favourite part of the strip and we got it for an OK price. Again it's cancellable if I can get any better deals near the time.

I have again booked with Expedia & gone through Quido for cash back.

2 rooms for 4 nights, £776.54 (£94.00 cashback).

So I've been trying to place together a bit of a rough plan. I still have one night of accommodation to sort. Originally I thought we would stop half way between LA & Vegas but having thought about it a bit more I think we would like a bit more time in LA. Therefore, we need a hotel room near (ish) Universal. Ideally I would love to stay at the Hilton Universal City as the location is amazing & the hotel was great last time, its v pricey though see we need to see how our budget plays out. Worst case is going to be all 3 of us sharing a room for the one night, not ideal but we will be speeding minimum time in the room.

Thanks I'm really happy with the price we have for the flights but would love to get a better deal on hotels, especially in Vegas as I know you can get super bargains. Looking forward to your trippy if you're writing one! Have you done a pre trippy for it? ...Off to have a look!

Thomas Cook have come through for us a couple of times with keen pricing. Their check in organisation could use some improvement but the actual flights have been great.

Keep pushing on the Vegas idea with your hubby, it's a love / hate place but one everybody should see I think! I adore it
