I loved it too. Didn’t really fancy watching it but watched it with DD one evening and it really ‘got’ to me. Beautiful film and very well acted by both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga

Hey up Robin's bint must be very unromantic as we both decided to bin the movie about 20 mins in... I'm also a bah humbug'er too

I do like a good thriller/detective movie tho. Up late t'other night typing an email when The Limehouse Golem came on. Something caught my eye with the film, 30 mins later I realised my puter was asleep and I was well into it and, even tho I guessed the twist, watched to the end.

Stay well MM, take good care

Whenever I feel like a good cry I listen to the last song! Cried my eyes out.
Watched it at the cinema and the lights came on straight after that bit. All of a sudden a guy shouted ‘what the f’ he had obviously been having a moment and the lights came on. It definitely broke the mood 😂

We loved this movie! I wasn't expecting to if I'm honest, but the actors in it were brilliant, its ones I'd love to watch again at some point

If you read about the state of Lady Gaga when she had to sing that last song you'll cry all over again.

I love the Judy Garland version (and yes, I know that wasn't the first) but I'm afraid this version didn't do it for me. Well acted, yes, and well sung. But Bradley Cooper's character had such big red flashing 'STAY AWAY' signs over him from the start, it was hard to be invested in the relationship. (Oh, and the scene at the awards, ewww...)

All credit to her for doing it though. She's done some jazz standards with Tony Bennett which also reveal what a good singer she really is.

Also love the Judy Garland/James Mason version 💕 I really like the music from the new version, but I hated the film 😫

I've never seen the Judy Garland version but one of my favourite films ever is the Streisand/Kristofferson version so I didn't want to see the new one. Finally submitted on the plane and it was better than I expected. I would say perhaps it's generational (GillH being an exception) and Barbara Streisand made some brilliant films around that time.
