How did you start it without a key?

But seriously I’ve only had one key the last three hires from Alamo, before that my Leatherman tool ( that always comes on holiday with us...so handy) did the wire cutting job and a free key ring put them back together. Mrs PPM carried the spare.

Great idea going in Walmart to split keys. Usually bulky in pocket to carry 2.
If you lost one key you can always get back to the accommodation to get the spare
When returning the car would they bill you for the missing key or would they even know

When you pick the car up the key and a spare are attached with pretty much a ball and chain.

i was wanting to snip the wire and only carry one key around with me, (never understood why you would have both on the same thing in case you lose one)

just wondered if when you hand them back have the hire company kicked up a fuss?
We always do this. I just use what ever is handy to reconnect them - string, cable tie. Even sellotape.
Never been a problem.
