Great news

That's good news, just wish they would class my family the same as yours. Still waiting for Financial Ombudsman.

Your case is so silly!

The fact is you paid for the holiday on your credit card, the provider failed and now you need a resolution to put you back in a position as if the loss never occurred. The concept that it matters who was going on the trip is totally besides the point.

I hope you not only win, but get a some further compensation as well. The Ombudsman should fine them for messing you are like this.

Well my saga with Halifax Clarity Card is finally over with them paying me just over £3500 from a mixture of there complaints procedure and amounts awarded by the financial ombudsman. They could have avoided paying £400 of it that was awarded because they did not act fairly/provide accurate information or apply the legislation correctly. Just need to change CC provider now and then I can forget Thomas *uck ever existed

I think that cc companies are relying on people not questioning their decisions. The fact that they have made £m's from people over the years doesn't seem to make them stop doing it. I am sure that I read somewhere that although you book your flights using cc and you start paying that amount off straight away, they actually delay payment to the airline until nearer the time. I am unsure if this is correct, very annoying if it is true.

I don’t know if it’s true for airlines, but it’s definitely true in the hotel industry.

Good news here too - Tesco Bank have upheld mine and I’ll receive my payment over the next few days.

Is there a time limit for them to respond to these claims? I sent a letter on 25th November to Virgin Money after I'd had my Thomas Cook flight refund. They say they're still investigating Its not hard they have the TC flight receipt & the new flight receipt, which both appear on my statement anyway!
