Mobile L.A.S Vegas four times - Day 2 - Madame Tussauds, Hells kitchen and shows

I again woke up for absolutely no reason at 6am for ages however did get back to sleep - yay!

Tom popped down to Lavazza to use todays breakfast credits on a frozen mocha for me, a capuccino for him, a chocolate Krispy kreme donut for me and a cherry danish for him (healthy!).

Tom didn't like his danish so took it with us when we left the room in case we saw any homeless on route to the Venetian which we didn't. They are definitely trying their best to push the homeless off the strip.

We wandered up the strip to the gorgeous Venetian where we went to Madame Tussauds with a groupon I'd bought - bargain for both of us to go in for less than 1 on the door ticket!

As we queued Tom burst into singing along with Backstreet boys much to the amusement of the two ladys behind us in the queue! They pretty much joined in and were shrieking with laughter. We also bought some sort of blue soft drink which tasted exactly like every blue drink I've ever tried in my life!

Once through and up the twinkly stair case it was time for the fun of posing with all the stars!

We had done this Madame Tussauds on our first Vegas trip in 2015 and I was surprised to see quite a bit had changed and a lot of stars added. Apparently we had seen the 4d film before but I didnt remember it so was nice to see again! Some photos were hillarious - I loved becoming one of the spice girls and Tom being Miley Cirus was hillarious to both me and everyone around us.

Mid way there is now a hangover themed bar inclusive of tiger print menu! At only $10 for a cocktail it would be rude not to right? So my day of blue drinks continued. I had a tigers blood which google reminds me was Bacardi, Blue Curacao, Malibu and Grenadine. I'm fairly certain this was topped up with something but no idea what... it was nice anyway and my fears of blue poo never happened - result!

After finishing Madame Tussauds we realised sadly my sunglasses had snapped in Toms pocket. It was not possible to walk anywhere without them given the middle of the afternoon in a cloudless desert so we popped into the shop at the Venetian to buy a replacement pair. Luckily the broken pair were only cheapy ones from Scarborough but the replacement was about $25 which was annoying given how many pairs I had in the room.

Sunglasses purchased (which I might add Tom actually chose off the shelf somehow - well done to him!) we moved on beaded back down the strip towards Caesars where we had Hells Kitchen reservations at 3.

We stopped off at casino royal to see if they still did $3 craps but got distracted by 2 buffalo machines next to each other!

$20 dollars lost and a free drink each obtained it was time to move on to meet back up near Caesars.

Neil and Liv had a nice morning at the Titanic Museum and wandering that end of the strip and they were in Caesars with strawberry daqaris in hand! We had a bit of time before our 3pm reservation so sat outside at the bar near Hells kitchen where I downed a massive water in the heat and the guys played hac-e-sack in the sun.

I love little unplannedmoments like this of which Vegas offers plenty!

It was now finally time for our only planned meal of the holiday - Hells kitchen eeep!

We were all very excited especially Liv as she loves Gorson Ramsey and is quite the foodie! We were asked if we had a special occasion as we walked in which at first I found strange. I found it even stranger when we were asked again at the table! Turns out Liv had specified it was a special occasion on the booking. Technically it was - Vegas! Plus it is Neils birthday the week after when we get home so that counts right?

Our waiter was lovely and very attentive. We felt like real grown ups eating here as made to try the wine and it just felt quite fancy compared to anywhere else we'd eaten in America that tends to be more casual. Liv ordered the 3 course tasting menu with the wine pairings which all looked incredible and I ended up quite jealous of - one for next time I think! She had the spring onion soup which we all tried which was like velvet, the beef wellington and the sticky toffee pudding. Tom ordered the chicken wings and the hells kitchen burger and I ordered the meatballs after watching Derek from All you can vegas try them. They were just as good as his facial expression showed. Neil had a couple of these and Tom pinched one off me too.

Next I joined Tom with the Hells kitchen burger too. Sadly they forgot the avacado on mine which I think it needed to cool it down a bit. It was delicious though and probably in my top 5 ever burgers (number 1 is still wolfgang puck at mgm grand for anyone interested and hexx was a closesecond).

With our special occasion they bought out a 2nd sticky toffee pudding on the house for us to share which oh my god... it was like no sticky toffee pudding I've ever tasted before. It was so light and airy and gorgeous! The ice cream with it was lovely too.

I would highly recommend Hells kitchen for lunch when in Vegas. I say for lunch as the views were so nice in the day and also it is considerably cheaper in the day. The price fix menu goes up at night - I believe you get a bigger portion however we struggled to eat what we had so it was perfect for us and made it a more realistic priced meal. Mine and Toms came to $131.33 plus tip for our 2 courses and a glass of wine each.

On from here we took our full bellys back to the room. The plan had been to change but I was too full so just lay on the bed in a food coma for 10 mins and freshened up the make up and a quick spray of deoderant and perfume and we were good to go.

Tonight was a double bill of shows. Yes I'm show obsessed but for me its one of the main pulls of Vegas. I loved Butlins as a kid and always try to book live shows and entertainment back home but nothing compares to vegas shows.

First on the bill was Xavier Mortimer who we decided to see as he was in our hotel (literally on the way down in the lift from our room bought us out at the show room) and he was really cheap on groupon and I love magic. Whether cheesy or high end I love it. I'm one of those people who tries not to work out how it was done as I enjoy the wow feeling. Xavier was about $20ish on groupon. We met Neil and Liv eventually as they'd ran a bit late but nobody seemed to mind them joining us in the queue to be sat together as it was seating on arrival. The show started about 15 mins late by the time we were all seated. We bought a diet coke from the bar which was about $4 each I think so not a lot cheaper than alcohol at the bar was but we wanted a hydrate.

The best description to this show would be that its a cute magic show. Nothing stunning minus his levitating whilst using a skipping rope! Lots of really beautifully timed projections and generally very cutesy magic. It was a family show but not babyish. He doesn't speak a lot during the show and had an assistant. The plot of the show as the title suggests is his magical dream where nothing is impossible. Me, Tom and Neil enjoyed this show but Liv hated it although she is a self confessed magic hater so wasnt the best idea for her anyway! Tom and I have seen quite a lot of magic shows and he was probably our least favourite in Vegas however that is not at all saying it isnt good. A $20 magic show is not going to compare to David Copperfield or Penn and Teller or Mac King who is the longest running strip magician. Again my summary word is cute as I kept repeating when talking about the show after. Cute magic.

We got an uber from Ballys to the Wynn which was about $12 plus tip. It was a bit of an awkward journey as the guy had very limited English and the other 3 in the back were chatting away so he tried to chat to me with very little success as he had no idea what my answers were but bless him he tried!

The wynn is a gorgeous hotel. We hadn't been before so it was quite nice sharing a first with Neil and Liv as it was their first everything and we were on our 4th trip so have been into most hotels. We walked in and waited for Tom who was suddenly having a rather expressive stomach! We had a quick look round the beautiful lobby and worked out where we were going for the show later on. It was around 8ish and our show was at 9.30. We then headed for Parasol Up, Parasol Down bar overlooking the Lake of Dreams. I'd read about this last trip but in typical fashion ran out of time.

We were seated on a nice table for 4 overlooking the lake of dreams. The shows here are every 30 minutes so we were aiming to catch 8.30 and 9 which we did. I think there are quite a few different ones and the bar is such a lovely relaxing setting I could have stayed there longer. Prices weren't cheap but not as ridiculous as I expected. The shows were quite funny. One was 2 balls basically getting it on and then having a baby ball appear and the other had big butterfly puppets!

Something different anyway and it was lovely sitting outside with the sound of the waterfall too. When the waitress came over Tom said "I really like your dress" however the three of us heard it as "i really like your breasts!". We only wonder what the waitress heard and this caused quite the giggle!

On from here it was time for the show. This was my headliner of the holiday and the most expensive.

It was Le Reve which is not a cirque show but an old cirque producer created it. We bought a quick drink from the bar and settled into our seats. The seats were super comfy and I dont think there would be a bad seat in the house. We bought our tickets on ticket master with a 15 dollar off code from the wynns website so think they were around £90 each.

The show itself was incredible. Water, Fire, Swimming, dancing, gymnastics and aerial stunts. It was awesome and didnt know where to look. Really enjoyed it. Again to compare it has a similar style to "O" which we saw last trip but I would say slightly prefer O. The stage being in the round at le reve definitely makes you feel more imersed and I've no idea how the people do what they do especially when they are wet - hanging onto someone in the air by just my ankle round their neck is not something I would try dry let alone both soaking wet! Incredible performers with such strength and grace. They make it look so easy and hypnotic. Really enjoyed this show and the stage itself is also so clever. One minute its a pool and the next people are dancing on it etc. It really was something and I would highly recommend. It is quite an artsy show compared to some though so bear in mind when booking.

We left le reve and had a flutter at the wynn and took some photos in the flowery lobby and by the carousel.

Beautiful hotel. We then popped out to see the fountain out front. Its not the bellagio obviously but again worth a quick pit stop. It feels very old Vegas due to the music we caught there. We saw someone chucking up over the fence into the bushes so decided it was time to move on!

Headed to the Venetian which was a bit disappointing as so many machines were down for maintenance and upgrades. No cash out machines were working so it was cashiers cage only. We soon got fed up of this so moved on up the strip.

We stopped at Walgreens where Tom found our favourite jalapeno cheetos we fell in love with on our previous Florida trip when some nights these formed dinner haha! He bought 3 massive bags and went outside to wait for us which we 3 didn't realise so we stood chatting inside. Liv suddenly had a sneezing fit and sneezed off her fake eyelash on one side which was beyond funny at the time! What was funnier was she decided she couldn't be bothered reapplying it but refused to take the other one off so spent the rest of the night wearing one lash! She looked like she could do a duet with herself!

We then went in Casino Royal where we decided to play $3 craps. I went to go to the toilet and there was a really scary looking lady asleep in the toilets so I decided I'd wait. Neil and Liv looked a bit like they'd had enough at this point and I said to them they didn't have to feel like they had to stay out but they stayed with us anyway. We were up a bit at craps and I decided I couldn't wait any longer for my wee so ignored the scary lady who was still flat out in the toilets. I then told the pit boss at the table about her and she was promptly removed by security! Casino Royal are quite generous with the drinks to be fair! We were up to $85 when I went to the toilet. When I came back Tom had lost and clearly hadn't been playing my field bet so we walked away with nothing booooo. I mean literally nothing as he also forgot the bag of cheetos to rub salt in the wound. He ran back when he realised but too late. Staff said if food is found it is binned :-(

We headed back to Ballys and I felt something go wrong with the underside of my feet when walking through the Cromwell. I suffer plantar fasciitis and it literally felt like everything tore. Very uncomfortable for the remaining walk. We finally got to Ballys where I'm fairly sure we played on the Big wheel but dont quote me lol!

Headed to bed really tired having had another one of my "favourite days in Vegas". I know that sounds daft but so many days I go "that was one of my favourite days" and this was definitely one of those days.

Laughed so much about Livs eyelashes lol You are so funny. Another fun filled day. Would like to try Hells Kitchen, but dont know that will happen, but worth thinking about the lunchtime menu. My DH loves a nice burger so will put Wolfgang on our list. We play myvegas do you? Its a reward on there so would be cheap to try. Not ever thought of Le Reve so will check that out thanks. As much as I love love Wynn, for us its too far north on the strip. We prefer somewhere more center strip.
We also saw Xavier Mortimer and did enjoy it. We didnt pay so was a good deal for us. We are diamond at Caesars and you get one free show a month so went to see that.
Really enjoying that you love Vegas and make the most of every second. I am tired keeping up with you lol. Thanks for another good day.

Thanks for reading along - loved your comments! Livs eyelashes genuinely made me howl. I still laugh now thinking of it ao glad of the reminder lol!
Hells kitchen wasnt dear for lunch time so worth a try but the burger at wolfgang puck was massively better and still one we dream of haha!
Yes play myvegas but dont seem to get many great rewards. Wolfgang puck was a reward we got off there - definitely helped keep it more reasonable! Le reve was great but O was definitely superior for a similar show if you've not seen that.
Have you seen Mac King? He is well worth a visit - one of the best magicians I've seen in Vegas and soooo cheap.
Haha we slow down soon don't worry - you'll see in upcoming days lol.
Thanks again for reading :-) x

Fab day, thanks for sharing! The show sounds wonderful. Planning on seeing ‘O’ when we go next year, and will be looking out for opportunities to try Wolfgang’s burgers based on your recommendation.
