LOL...99% of the time the forecast shows thunderstorms. It's the % chance of rain bit you want to pay attention to.

Even then, you may not be affected. Thunderstorms tend to be very localised and over as quick as they start

I remember it well when I was last over (in 1992). All you could see for miles was a sea of yellow ponchos with Mickey on...

I'm hoping for some good thunderstorms when I'm over next year. If I'm going to lug the camera tripod with me I'd like to get some lightning shots!

We have just got back, forecast looked awful too before we went but didn't have much rain, short and sharp, only wore ponchos once! will be hot and amazing!

Just got back and weather forecast for our whole fortnight showed rain and thunder storms every day - in reality we had an hours rain storm one afternoon and a couple of evening thunder & lightning storms without rain so please don't worry. It's usually later afternoon if its going to rain, and even if its gets very cloudy most of the time the rain doesn't appear. Enjoy and ignore the forecast.

The locals would call it the 4pm shower. Since Florida climate is tropical it does rain most days in the height of summer due to humidity. It will rain very heavy ( not light uk drizzle) will last a short period of time, usually no more than an hour then be dry within 20 minutes. The heat does not change but the humidity will drop and will feel fresher.

This shows the recorded temp in 2013. It did not drop below 74 as a minium for the whole month!

Oh the yellow ponchos! I forgot about those!

When we went in August 1996 I had an absolute panic when I thought we'd lost our stepson age 9 in MK..he was stood right in front of us with his back to us but because everyone was in yellow ponchos I couldn't tell which kid was him! Made sure we kept a firm grip on him in showers after that!

Excited and ready to go with ponchos packed. Last time I think we wore them every day middle to the end of August!
