Legoland passes to Merlin passes

Has anybody ever had a theme park annual pass (legoland in our case) amd after expiration bought a merlin pass at their renewal price?

Our legoland ones have expired, legoland said that I can do this and so I went on the website and put all of our details in - all was accepted up to payment but as we arent going just yet I didn't do it.
I phoned merlin this morning though and they said no you can't do it. I said im not sure if I explained it properly so went to explain it again and he interrupted me with "I understand clearly what you said and no you cant".

But surely if I couldn't the website would've stopped me?

I'd be grateful to know if anyone has done it?

Hi. I was exactly in the same position recently, albeit we had Chessington tickets.
I too phoned Merlin and they said this could NOT be done. However I also emailed the customer services to which I had a reply saying It COULD be done. Long story short we 'upgraded' to Merlin passes following a link in the email and we have used these at Chessington, Sealife and Legoland since, so all working well. Hope this helps.

Thank you! Did they send you the link? I've had it confirmed via fb messenger now that it can be done, I assumed I could just do it online as a renewal!

I wish they'd all work from the same sheet!

You absolutely can do this, and you can just follow the renewal option links from the Merlin pass website, enter your current pass ID's if asked.

Sadly Merlin can be pretty inconsistent with customer service answers which is rather frustrating.
