And One up to Cleveland

Update on previous posts - we have got all our dollars (Can and US). Changed our minds about walking around Toronto due to my ongoing ankle issues, so are now going to do a HoHo bus trip to all the places we want to. The StubHub tickets are all here :-)

Pittsburgh to Cleveland

Having spent a couple of days in Pittsburgh, we are now heading north to Cleveland, Ohio.

This is a shorter day driving day with only 2 hrs (132 miles). As we are half way through our holiday, the most important job for the day is the washing...

We have two days in Cleveland and we have some brilliant other bits planned and top of the list is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is on the waterfront. And the USS Cod Submarine Memorial which is next door.

But the real reason we are in Cleveland is we are also planning to go to the WWE Smackdown. Mr W is very much a child of the late 70s and early 80s and was a huge fan of "professional wrestling" so it was too good a chance to miss.

We are stopping at the Holiday Inn Express in the centre and are intending to using the trolly buses to make the most of the amazing brew pubs in the centre of Cleveland.

Round the Lake to Detroit

Having spent a couple of days in Cleveland, we are heading round to Detroit. We are not going their directly and are taking a trip to Catawba Island State Park which means the journey will take us 5 hrs (including ferries and bikes) to cover 191 miles.

Once we get into Detroit, we are stopping at the Courtyard Hotel, close to transport system and the bay.

I was hoping to get to the Henry Ford Museum but we don't have enough time to do it justice (its huge) so we are going to a baseball match instead, the Detroit Tigers v the Cleveland Indians and as we both love baseball we are very excited about this.

We are also looking forward to riding the people mover, a real live city with a real live monorail... I am easily pleased.

We are also going on a half day photographic tour of some of the older areas of detroit safely including the old car museums. I am really looking forward to this.

The only place I have to eat in Detroit is there is a Potbelly Sandwich bar and we love Potbelly Sandwiches...

We found there is so much to do in Detroit, we had a tough time choosing what to do.
