Another bargain city break, Brno, February half term 2016.
Just realised I haven't done a pre trip yet, quite frankly as Im getting older my memory is failing me.
Only 4 of us going on this city break, normally we have a few more but they didn't want to book so far in advance. They thought about adding on, they decided not too as one friend injured her leg and didn't fancy the walking tours. So, its me, Julie, 41, cook manager at a school, hence the half term breaks. Oh, Matt, 37, head chef at a golf club and keen golfer. I cant find a photo of him alone, here he is with one of his gorgeous nieces. My sister, Steph. Older than me! Our friend, Debbie, also older than me! Also cant find an alone photo, she in the middle. So this trip began when we were in Budapest celebrating my joint 40th with my college friend. One of his gang said how much he liked Brno, and thought we would too. When we came home, I kept looking out for flights and last year found £60 return with ryan air. A quick text later and we were booked, you can’t hang about with ryan air, they change their flights prices daily! We travel Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th. Originally the flight times weren't great, late going at 6pm and coming home at 9pm, but a couple of months ago I had an email about changes. Normally its 5 or 10 minutes, but this was now leaving at 1.40pm and coming home at 5.10pm, so much better especially as I have to be at work on Monday. I clicked on to accept pretty quickly. The hotel we are staying at is the Solnicni, £60 per person including breakfast, booked with travel republic. £1 deposit, the rest to be paid in a couple of weeks. It has good reviews, only negatives is that is it dated, but it is central which is the main thing. We normally book a transfer, but as its only 4 of us, we will just grab a taxi when we get there. Matt has had a quick look at things to do, and came back with how cheap the food and drinks are. Im sure we will do a walking tour and explore the city. I will have a quick google before we go. not long to go now. Edited at 06:26 PM. |
