Just another quick update, i've managed to book a tour of the Capitol Building for 9:30am on Mon 6th Sept, so that part of my itinerary is good to go! Still procrastinating about hotels in DC and NYC but have made cancelable reservations for each place.

I'm looking to do this in a year or so, so any advice you can give me from the cheapest ways to do it right through to the safest ways will be VERY much appreciated !

I have made another amendment to my trip, the final one! *lol* I am now staying in Washington DC for an extra day, so from 4th - 7th Sept, and i have booked the St Gregory hotel via lastminute.com for a total of £188 for 3 nights. Still haven't decided where i want to stay for my final night in NYC though!
