Wow, what a trip. I've followed nomadic fanatic on you tube who did the same trip but west to east last year. He might be worth a look as he passes some really quirky places.

We've just been to dinner with our friends Kevin and Terry they did 66 late last year with their Airstream sounds like they had a ball

we did it bout 9 years ago but detoured to vegas rather than onto LA. Try the road kill cafe in seligman Arizona

Sadly all this has had to be shelved. I have recently had two separate operations to remove cancer tumors - one on the cecum with appendix and lymph nodes removal and then two months later on the ileum with spread into the liver. I have been fitted with a stoma. (They are a barrel of laughs - NOT!) My chemotherapy follow up for the first one had already started but had to be suspended and will be re-organised once wounds are healed and biopsies get back. So looking like May possibly.
The reason for our decision to cancel the trip is because of the distance from home and the fact that on many days we could be 500 miles from the nearest hospital. Plus, as yet, we cannot find any travel insurance that would cover me under the price of two weeks in Florida(£4 - 5,000). Talk about discrimination. If anybody knows of a company that can do it for hundreds rather than thousands then please let me know.
