France on the quarantine list

I don't know if I'm being completely stupid, but I'm finding it hard to keep on top of this all because it changes so much, and there's so many different things, but is there anyway around it by going via somewhere else?

(the examples I'm about to use are literal examples, I haven't checked what the current FCO advice is for these)

E.g. Could you fly to Ireland and go from Dublin to Paris if they don't need to quarantine on arrival? Or alternatively, could you fly to Germany and drive to France?

I'm not sure if the quarantine is to do with being present in the UK for the last 14 days, or how this works!

We are in the same boat

Going Sunday but no idea at the moment whether we can on or not until the French Government make a firm announcement on it!

This has now been confirmed by the French embassy in the UK.

14 day quarantine from Saturday morning if arriving into France from the UK.
I hope everyone gets refunds, can’t imagine stuck in a French hotel for 14 days .

Is that not just what was said yesterday?

Cannot see a time mentioned for example, will wait and see

It was from a junior minister but this time the French embassy.

‘ will apply reciprocal measures in the transport field.’

Means like for like.

Only reason I was saying it was a few people on Twitter have said that under EU law it would be hard for them to have a tit for tat response which is why it was voluntary last time and that is what will happen again

Hopefully a full statement will follow

By them saying “reciprocal measures” I’m assuming this means they’ll be matching the 4am Saturday deadline as set by the UK? Just wish we could get a definite answer, we’re due to fly Sunday morning. We could easily do the 14 quarantine on return but wouldn’t be able to quarantine in France - our trip is only 5 nights 🙁

I suppose the easy answer is we will know at 4am tomorrow morning either way

Its all a massive mess and has become political between the two countries which helps no one
