online check in !

its my first flight in around 9 years so sorry if its a stupid one !
we are flying with virgin,
have pre booked seats. 2a 2c

I understand that you can do online check in 24 hours before the flight.

we are travelling down to gatwick the day before our flight so wont have access to a printer.

Do you think our travel lodge will allow us to use theirs ? or could we go to a local library? or is it best just to do normal check in if we have pre booked seats ?

I would just do normal check in if you have pre booked your seats. Saves hassle faffing for a printer.

You can do on line check in and then when you do bag check they will print them out for you. Gives you peace of mind that you are checked in. We did this in both directions ( glad we did on the way back as the airline we used had over booked and they were bumping people off the flight - not saying this will happen with you but it was just as easy to do online and get the boarding passes printed off)

We've flown Virgin several times and I've done OLCI on my phone on the way to the airport hotel, I've also done OLCI from a variety of Disney restaurants and lines for the flight on the way home! Point being I've never been able to print my boarding passes, they've always just done it at bag drop.

ok that sounds great , so i can do the online check in but not print off the boarding passes and just get them at the airport?

Correct you can collect them at Bag Drop.
