Dont do cream carpets , go for grey, with cream ones you get a dirty dust line around the edges of the skirting boards ,and it will drive you mad after a while

Thankyou! I wasn’t thinking cream as such, maybe beige would be a better description.
I was toying with grey just because it’s going up the stairs too, and the dog likes to stand on the bottom steps and wait for us on a morning. My husband also has a bad habit of spilling tea so I didn’t know if it would hide dirt better.
I’m struggling though because all our bedroom furniture is grey. This was bought when we had white flooring.
I’m struggling even more for a paint colour with a grey carpet, grey bedroom furniture, cream shutters and white skirts and ceilings. I just don’t want it to look like Mrs Hinch threw up in it.
As the rooms aren’t enormous I want to emphasise the south facing light.

I do need to choose the rough colour of the carpet though to ensure the paint complements it. We could be ready to paint next week so i need to sort my self out 😂

Arghhhh

I’m no paint expert, so not saying the paint is great, or not, but have you looked at Valspar? On their site they have inspiration and Look Books, where you can see their paint in real people’s homes.

Brilliant! Work, don’t expect much from me today, I’m playing on paint websites 😂
Thankyou

Am sure Dulux do an interactive paint thing. You can layout your room and then add in paint.

We have the palest of grey in our bedroom apart from on the wall behind the bed which was the darkest purple I could find. All floorboards are the original ones restored apart from the stairs and landing. Darkish grey carpet on those to hide dust and dirt after having had paler carpet in the past.

I would love floorboards in the bedrooms, our last house we painted them all white with grey curtains, grey bedroom furniture and very pale almost silver walls with one darker feature wall, but that was a massive room.

I’ll have a play on dulux

This is the room

All plastered and ready for us to paint
