Definitely but then it becomes expensive when we decide we want to stay at the deluxe ones the next time we travel!

I feel that we are maybe in the minority but if we had a dining reservation we would but otherwise not making a special trip

We have done the lot, but….

For this reason we would not stay at CBR. The skyliner inspires more footfall and puts pressure on services to the disadvantage of the paying guest.

We try and plan a few meals at other hotels so we can have a wee nosey around while we are there. It usually works out quite well because some of the resort restaurants are pretty good and not always all that busy.

As someone else said, it can be an expensive pastime when you see somewhere you would like to stay on the next trip or, in the case of the Grand Floridian, I see somewhere I’d need a lottery win to even be able to consider it!

We also like to look round the other hotels to help decide where to stay next. Christmas time love to go to see the gingerbread house and the other Christmas decorations in the hotels.

We did a resort tour on our last visit, mainly to the deluxe resorts. It makes a nice day off from the parks.

We've never spent a single night in any WDW hotel nor have we been to a park since 2010 apart from MVMCP in 2014 but every visit, at least once and sometimes twice, we park up at DS and catch the free WDW transport to have a look round the resorts.

Sometimes a bus to Wilderness Lodge then a boat to MK then monorail to the three resorts and a bus back to DS.

Sometimes a bus to the Boardwalk and a ride on the Friendship boats.

Sometimes just a boat from DS to OKW or PO.

You don't need to be staying in a WDW hotel, nor have a dining reservation nor a park ticket.

We rarely lunch in MK but often visit one of the MK resorts for lunch and look around the hotels as a break from the parks.
