Anyone managed to change their cancelled VA flights to next summer?

Sure I read someone was doing this but not sure how as flights aren’t released yet?

Last year when the same thing happened we just got Open Tickets from VA and rebooked as soon as flights opened.

Today I have rebooked our reward flights for next May/June but for the west coast instead of Orlando. There were reward seats available on the flights i wanted. In the email i received cancelling or flights, it said that all flights to Orlando were fully booked for May and June.

Yes ours was booked from an open ticket from last year. We got a great price so had a partial refund too. Looks like I’ll have to take a refund as I don’t want a voucher.

Hi, hope you don’t mind me asking, did you have to use additional miles to move your reward flights to the West Coast?

We did too - not expecting that again for next year , more likely be adding to it, we'll rebook for next September if needed.
We already have Miami flights for a cruise in March - surely THAT will happen

I have been confident all through this that normal will be back soon... as you say SURELY by March we will be ok?

My pessimistic side say that it just needs another nasty variant to pop up and this could go on for a long time...

Lets hope that by Christmas Mr Biden lets us in!

Yes it was 10000 more mile for my flight but i used a voucher for my DW's ticket so no extra miles. It was also £24 extra in taxes each.
