I know students can sometimes get emails from their university before their actual results.when this has happened what sort of time in the morning do the university emails tend to come through - does anyone know please?
UCAS say the system should be updated around 8am, not sure about university emails.

Had an email from UCAS to say Track is closed from midnight until 8.30am on 10th Aug. Then Clearing opens 2.30pm.

There is a very strict embargo on results and Universities are not supposed to send any communications to successful applicants before track opens at 8.30. They can be fined for breaking this.

Unis will get the results either tomorrow or Thursday and start processing them and making decisions on borderline students over the weekend.

DS is getting a bit nervous. School have given them appointments to collect results which he’s cross about as some of them might have to wait hours to get their results, which could be awful if all you know from UCAS is that you didn’t get your first choice.

My DD’s results are coming via email, not quite the same as going in person and meeting friends.

To be honest a level results pick up was an anticlimax for both of mine. There were only a few picking up at the same time as most of the "kids" had work at some point during the day, and as school buses were not running a lot opted for email notification anyhow.

Obviously it was a bit of an odd one last year but DD found out by logging onto UCAS and finding out she had got into her insurance choice. Her college emailed her about 30 minutes later and she found out she had AAC where she needed AAB for her first choice. The C was in chemistry and she’s never gotten a C in that subject in her life!

After the great downgrading shambles the grades then got changed to A*AA but there were no places left on her course for her first choice (vet med) so she decided to defer until this year to go where she wanted. 2 days before everyone moved in she got an email to say someone had dropped out and did she want the place so after a mad scramble she started. It was definitely a stressful month!

Would add a tip... make sure their towels, bedding etc are all similar colours... probably grey 😀 because they will all be shoved in the same wash at 40deg (occasionally 60 by mistake) if Dd in second year is anything to go by.

We are at Hull Uni tonight, staying in Halls. Actually in the same block, on the same floor where DS booked his room. What are the chances of that, it was pot luck being allocated this. We have the whole floor to ourselves, here with DS2 and DH also. DS really happy knowing where everything is on campus and what it is like in Halls. Really pleased we came to stay, what a great opportunity. Had the Open day today, had a good wonder around, a guided tour by students.

That’s good that you got to visit and stay over. We have had a tour around Lancaster, which was good as I hadn’t seen it before.

My DD and her friend are driving to York tomorrow to have a look around, they are hoping to be able to get out of the car and have a walk around. It’s her friends first choice and they haven’t even offered visits
