Mobile Flat feet anyone?

My husband has taken Mason to his appointments today at Alder Hey.
Regarding the arthritis the Azathioprine and infliximab infusions he is on for his Crohn’s disease will also treat that so the rheumatologist was happy with that and only needs to see him again in two months 👍🏻👍🏻
She did say that he has flat feet so she has organised a scan on his feet.
He has an unusual walk anyway with his poor balance and poor gross motor skills.
I can’t see having flat feet as a problem, I think its pretty common?
But is there anything we should take into consideration?
Are you effected in anyway with your flat feet?

I have very flat feet. I wore insoles from the gp/chiropodist from being a child all the way through my teens. I have ticklish feet and getting the casts done wasn’t easy!

I don’t wear them now. I still have flat feet. The only issue I currently have is running gives me knee pain as your feet roll inwards and turn your knees. I can live with that though as I’m not very athletic 😂

Whether I’ll have more issues in the future I don’t know. I’ve never really given it much thought 🤔

I have flat feet (or I was told as a child I should have. Been a police man as I had flat feet !) - the only thing I need is footwear with a instep (Birkenstock’s work but flip flops dont etc) and walking barefoot for any length of time makes them ache s0 heals and insteps work best (for me)

My 15 year old has flat feet, she has troubles with her ankles and they go inwards because of the flatness and gets bad aches, we're just waiting on a new pair of insoles. She cant wear completely flat shoes and needs shoes/trainers with arch support, she would love a pair of adidas gazelles, but she would be in agony with them!

I got these for my fallen arches and they certainly did the trick over time.

Hopefully they would help for flat feet 🤞

If possible for him, trying to be as bare foot as possible is really good for flat feet as it encourages the arches to activate and work. Also rolling a tennis ball around under his arches can help too.
I have flat feet and all my physio colleagues told me to walk around the house/garden bare foot and over the last year it’s made such a difference!

My daughter had this. She ended up having surgery when she was 13. It’s helped a little bit she still struggles when walking long distances
