Charter travel

Experiences of charter travel please? Getting a good price off them for 2022 but ever mindful that next year may (hopefully) or may not be in a different place to allow travel so I wondered if anyone has experience of changing their booking dates with them, any hidden fees? I’m always a touch nervous to use a different travel operator...

Heard some horror stories. Always go direct has been my approach. Why pay a cut to the middle man when it’s not difficult to put a trip together yourself.

Just put charter travel in the search box and you will find lots of opinions on them, many not so good.

Can’t fault them! Had to reschedule our honeymoon last year to this year, flights fell through with Virgin 2nd August. Had them working around the clock for 3/4 days looking at all the possible be routes to get to Florida this year via Mexico or elsewhere.

Those plans had to change due to OH pre existing medical conditions so couldn’t get travel insurance to cover Mexico. They then found us an amazing Honeymoon to Jamaica.

I wouldn’t hesitate to book again with them. Had Peter originally book us and have since dealt with him, Dawn & Sandra.

They are very good , be aware there are amendment and cancellation fees. Then you can weigh everything up.

We've used them three times and never had any problems, always found them very good and competitively priced. We don't use them for everything though, usually it's been something like flights + car hire so it counts as a package holiday and you get more protection in case of problems.

As PPM suggested, use the search option to check other Charter Travel threads, HERE is a 29th April thread started by a Dibber who stood to lose £1400, there are differing opinions and tales, in particular to thoroughly read their T&Cs re cancellation/change, the OP posted...

Hi, I rang them last week to discuss options for our booked 2021 trip, we were booked for last year but they moved the booking to 2021. Now been informed that to move it again we need to cancel and rebook, with a £100 cancellation fee for each person, which for 6 of us is £600, plus lose our deposit, £800, so a £1400 loss. Gutted really, just wondered if anyone else booked with them has been told the same.

I’ve never used them personally but the bank transfer only option for payment put me off.

We have used them for this upcoming trip. So far no issues apart from standing to lose our deposit if we were to cancel. We decided to commit to our September trip and paid in full, just hoping that if THEY have to cancel it we will get a refund in full 🤔 x

Make sure you read t&c in full. There is no flexibility
