CBR,POFQ or Marriott?
Have decided we will be stuck with July next year so now looking at accommodation for the first part of our stay.
At the moment there’s not the same benefit to staying on site as there was previously and we’ve never done it but want to try and fit in some down time .The Marriott is currently being re furnished ti add a lazy river etc so good for relaxing but DS had said he’d like to stay in a Disney Hotel please can you offer your opinions on the choices we have narrowed it down to . We may have a car for some of our stay but not the first bit ,the second half will definitely be at Cabana Bay . |

How many are in your party? If it’s just two of you then POFQ would be my choice. Lovely little resort for couples and great access to Disney springs via the boat.

There’s three of us DS will be 17 he has autism and ADHD ,he’s asked that the next time we go we stay at Disney - his problems aren’t immediately obvious but I think he likes the safety of Disney if that makes sense - although he also lives the big coasters .
I have only read good things about French Quarter - so thank you . |

For me, the biggest difference between CBR and POFQ is the size. POFQ is a lovely sized resort, not a long walk to anywhere! CBR is one of the bigger resorts, multiple bus stops, etc. Haven’t stayed there, but did see another DIBBER mention there’s more outside seating areas at CBR, which might be important to some. CBR has the Skyliner, POFQ has the boat to Disney Springs. Don’t know much about the Marriott, sorry.

POFQ might be good as it is quite a compact resort and it was nice and calm. One bus stop.
The food court was good and you can stroll to riverside as well which is a lovely walk. The bus to Disney springs is a bonus as well. The rooms in the dining credit offer are garden view, not that it makes that much difference but we were in a garden view last time and our room opened up on to one of the big grass squares and was lovely. We are booked for 8 nights in July for POFQ and thinking cabana bay for a bit in a family suite as well. There are 3 of us. My July 2019 trip report has loads of port Orleans french quarter stuff in it.

My friend who may be going with me next year has ASD and won't even think about staying off-site, even at one of the partner hotels. They too like the security of the bubble. I was pretty sure I'd choose my favourite resort (CSR) but did look at all the other options from their perspective.
I ruled out CBR as I didn't want to chance of the Skyliner going down (which is a risk in summer, as it doesn't run during storms) and potentially having a meltdown while waiting for alternate transport. So out of your options, I would go with FQ. Small with dedicated buses, so you shouldn't be too overwhelmed with people. The pool is a little kiddie IMO, but you can walk over to Riverside and use the pools there as well. |

Thank you all so much
However after much debate DH threw a curved ball and we booked 5 nights at Coronado Springs based very much on what we can see of the rooms . Hope it will be ok .The remainder at Volcano Bay . It’s cheered me up no end ! |

It looks lovely there. We were very tempted by Coronado this year but I wanted the tower and it wasn’t available for our dates so we stuck with POFQ instead.
Might see you over at Cabana Bay as that’s where we fancy for a bit.

I was going to suggest you take a look at Coronado Springs. We are an all adult party and if I were choosing a moderate it would be between Coronado and POFQ.
We stayed at CBR in 2019 and found the size of it really off putting. POFQ appeals because it is compact and although CSR is big too, we would stay in the tower so would be near the majority of the amenities. |
