Las Vegas must do’s

Hi dibbers,

Hubby and I are off to Las Vegas in January for my 40th birthday and were spending 3 days in sin city.

We’ve never been before and my only plan at the moment is to soak up the atmosphere and visit the stratosphere tower.

Are there any other suggestions for things to do with such a short time there?

Thanks in advance
Andrew

We got married in Vegas in 2016. Arrived Monday late afternoon and left early Saturday. Our wedding was on the Wednesday and our friends wedding on the Thursday. We didn’t feel we had enough time to do it justice with the nuptials .

Going back mid September for five nights and can’t wait!

Our highlight from 2016 was the sunset helicopter tour of the Canyon and flying back over the strip. Amazing.

This year we have booked the High Roller drink package, Andiamos at the D and the Laundry Room. Looking forward to seeing what replies you get .

Go to the Skylounge (on top of Delano at Mandalay Bay) for a drink - the view at night is amazing!

Check travelzoo and groupon before you go as you may pick up some bargains for a show or a meal as well as attractions like the Eiffel Tower at Paris and the High Roller at Linq.

Use the Deuce buses to save your feet! Comfortable shoes are especially important.

Visit lots of the hotels as they are all amazing and have something to see - the Venetian, the conservatory and fountains at Bellagio, the shopping at Caesars Palace are examples of a few!

Have a great trip

If you get a chance to go to Fremont Street which is the oldest part of Las Vegas, check out the Mob Museum. Its fascinating.

Also Caesars Palace on the strip is amazing with fantastic shops.

You must do a Hotel Buffet, we did the Wicked Spoon in the Cosmopolitan which was amazing. You could easily have a massive food overdose, oysters and all.

Our favourite day was a scoot city tour to red rock canyon, was great fun and lovely to see outside of the strip. We also did the high roller in the day time and we had a pod to ourselves which was great, another favourite memory. If you only have chance to see a few hotels, my pick would be the Venetian, Caesars and Paris.

A visit to the Bellagio taking in the fountain and the shows (Celina Dion/Cirque) were my highlights. With 3 days I think just soaking up the atmosphere and exploring the strip will fill your time. Maybe a special restaurant for the birthday dinner if you’re foodies.

Las Vegas sign

If you are looking to buy tickets for a show there are a few official half price ticket booths on the strip. Usually have tickets available for most shows, particularly midweek
