San Diego Zoo closed down today for gas leak
Just saw this news on my local news channel that the San Diego Zoo and some of the Balboa Park museums were evacuated and closed down today shortly after opening due to a gas leak. A construction crew working at the zoo hit a gas pipe. One of our Dibb members, Colusox, was planning to go to the zoo today. I hope all is well for them!

I was there last Thursday and Friday. The children's zoo is a massive building site. I do hope that Colusox gets another chance to visit.

I felt so bad for them. I hope they get to visit again too, but I believe they are moving onto Anaheim this weekend.

Jeez. I was there yesterday and was considering doing some other museums today. I’ve not seen this reported anywhere.

I'm sorry to hear this might have ruined some plans for you today, berneslai. I linked to the news article in my first post, in case you might have missed it. I checked the websites and Facebook pages of the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Fleet Science Center and they all say they are closed today but will reopen tomorrow.

Hi aims, saw the news on tv just before we where due to leave this morning. So we did not go. We had a day by the midway instead. The ship is unbelievable, I would recommend it to any one.
From what I have read the zoo is open on Friday, so will try in the morning. |

The Midway was a great choice! It is quite amazing, I agree. I’m glad you will get another chance to visit the zoo before you leave town. 😊👍
