Been to both Boston for 6 days and Chicago a week, love both of them, they are quite different but equally as interesting. Prefer both to New York.

Can't help with Chicago as only connected there en route to somewhere else but can definitely recommend Boston. We stayed for 4 nights last summer and we could have easily stayed longer. So much to see and do and most of the city is walkable, we will definitely return.

We've been to Boston and loved it, 5 nights in October 2013, wonderful clean city , very easy to get about , loads to do and see, a friend visited Boston and Chicago on the same trip and preferred Chicago , taking her advice we are heading to Chicago next month for 5 night ,

When would you be going? I think the season would be important in my decision making as Boston is beautiful in autumn and Chicago can get very cold in winter.
