We did it last year, first time every flying indirect so I was mega nervous, DH gets flustered travelling, which makes me worse. We also had 2hr 55min but honestly it was very easy. We found most of our plane was traveling through the airport, there were staff at every turn pointing you in the right direction, the cases were dropped off again right after security, so not lugging them unnecessarily, we were through and sat by our new gate in about 40 minutes so had plenty of time - good point about the liquids though, cause we had bought drinks in London to take with us, didn't drink on the plane to Atlanta, then had to surrender them there as I just didn't think

same experience here at MCO last month (even though we were pushed to the front with special assistance), cleared in 5 minutes ... before being sent to secondary for agriculture, here again, another story :p )

I was surprised the IO didn't fingerprint us, and she said it was now facial recognition.

Thanks all great advice and tips again , I hopefully will have enough time and going October is quieter would of thought than summer months.
We have only every travelled indirect once before via JFK which was all ok.

FIngers crossed for smooth connection. Thanks all again for the advice and experiences .

It's like everywhere else, if yours is the only aircraft to land then it won`take long.

Steruth - we travel in November and whilst Atl is the busiest airport in the world it seems to flow so very well, the advantage is international immigration arrivals usually have many admitting IO desks open.

Have a smashing holiday
