NYC Attraction passes

Hi

How do any of these passes work.

Do you have to q to exchange into tickets then q again to get in?

We're going at a very busy time so really don't want to be spending the whole time in q's.

We used the explorer pass which we got for Three days, you could use it on your phone or a print out, we had both but it gave us all the attractions we wanted and saved time, you could skip the line and top of the Rock, emplre state building, etc and saved us time and effort than paying out having pre paid and using as much as possible to get the value worked for us .
