We have caravanned for around 30 years and the only time we have used the shower in any of our vans is when the children were very small as it seemed easier with toddlers.
Feel a bit envious! Every now and then we think of buying a new van but we felt they had just gone too expensive and we were priced out when our last one needed replacing. Most of our happiest family times were spent in a box on wheels in a field !

We use the shower in the caravan if we're on a service pitch or if the weathers bad. No 1's ok in the van, mainly at night. No 2's over to the block!

Our van is quite an old one and our youngest child is 18 and still enjoys her caravan holidays We have many conversations about what to do in the future as caravans are so expensive, and as we go abroad more now, I’m not sure if it will be worth us buying another when this one finally gets too old. We would be very sad though and definitely miss it if we couldn’t go caravanning, it’s an unique style of holiday 😀

We use a mixture of both in the van & site facilities. As a family of 4 it's quicker & easier to use the site showers, as for the loo I think it's just a habit to use site ones after years of being tent campers. Sometimes it's more convenient to use the van one though so we do that too. Fortunately we've never stayed on a grotty site.

We use our toilet and shower. Don't like the idea of communal showers as I've had a bad experience previously with a little present that was left on the floor of a communal shower 🤢
I also take our Karcher window vac to clean our shower down with afterwards which really helps with the moisture in the air.

2 of my best friends (2 different couples) have touring caravans, we don't . Both of them only wee in the caravan toilet & go to the site toilets to do other functions! I find this odd!
