We have done it a couple of times , I love Toronto so always pleasnat for me to go through there .
It is the only place though that my DH was questioned about his lack of US ESTA ... luckily I had them printed off so we breathed a huge sigh of relief when they said 'oh its ok we found it " We actually keep our Canadian ETA running concurrently with our ESTA in case deals come up or we fancy a trip to Canada. Plus I love going as a domestic passenger to Florida... It does'nt apply to you OP as you are planning a Summer trip but for others reading be very cautious about doing the route in Winter , been stranded in Toronto in deep snow and ended up getting re-routed home via Detroit with a seven hour layover , that was tiring . |

What is your layover time? We did it a few years ago and took ages to clear both Canadian and American Immigration. We had 4 hours so 2 hrs for Immigration, got food and drink then went to gate. From what I remember we didn't have too long to wait.
