I'm not even going to try to keep up with the clever analogies and terms of phrase.
40p refund is taking the proverbial. I would also keep posting here as if that is how they deal with something like this I guess it is a fine representation as to what they actually think about their customers. Keep on at them Rob!

Had a problem with some cooked meat from Tesco and went the Trading Standards route and my packet of meat did get a very acceptable voucher and reply plus an inspection from Trading Standards.

My concern would not be the snail. More like the colour of those peas. Is beige the new green? 😂

I had some plastic in a pack of chicken breasts from aldi (looked like the edge of the plastic from another tray had broken and got into my packs) I emailed aldi, they said I could take it back to the shop for a full refund, and sent me a ten pound voucher.

We had the same poor response from Kelloggs. DH rice krispies had chunks of brown stuff in them.
They asked us to return the box. Cost something like Ł2.90 to post and they sent a Ł3 voucher. When I phoned to complain they sent another quid. It was like getting blood out of a stone. |

They've said that they will alert their suppliers and will put extra measures in place in the future. They've said they will refund you. What more is it that you want Rob?
Because now it's beginning to seem like you're just in this for the money. Bloomin' compensation culture.

I would have been happy with a genuine "Good grief, that's awful and not what we set out to do" rather than a few platitudes and 40p.
Quite happy for you to imply I'm a compensation chaser.

That would have been the best way to deal with a good customer, and also why I rarely shop at Tesco now. Aldi have a great attitude to customer issues. They refund, no quibble and usually say help yourself to another similar item.
Ps, I once found a strange item in my Asda prawns, never did find out what it was, but it had hair! They quickly took it, refunded me and gave me a voucher. They kept the item for investigation!
