Selling old smartphones

We have two old iphones and one HTC which haven't been used for a while so I thought Id sell them. They used to be used on a Vodaphone monthly contract.

I know I need to delete all the photos/contacts/data etc from the phones by doing a factory reset, and remove the SIM card. Do I have to do anything on the icloud?

Once I've done this is there anything else I need to do?

Once you reset to factory settings icloud wont matter. I got an Iphone 8 which I need to sell and reset to factory settings. when I went on the cloud it is no longer listed as a device

When you send them to a phone recycling place (for money) they ask you to take any screen locks off or pin codes
