Mobile Average price per night - West Coast Trip

Hi all!

In the planning stages of a 15 night trip on the West Coast.

Does anyone work with a rough 'per night estimate'?
I know places like San Francisco can be more expensive but I swear I read somewhere here that some people aim for an average price per night over their trip.

FYI, we're two adults doing 3 nights San Francisco, 2 nights Monterey, 5 nights LA, 5 nights Anaheim.

Thankyou!

We spent 20 nights travelling from San Francisco to LA to Vegas, going via Yosemite, the PCH and Death Valley. We were a family of 4 (2 teens) and we averaged £150 per night, however that was an average... some nights we splashed out and spent £225ish and other nights we stayed in a motel or B&B and paid £80 ish. We loved the variety of accommodation, it’s all part of the adventure!

That's great thankyou! Our rough plans are averaging around £170 so we're not far off then 👍

I made a plan of around 150p/n, in practise we managed to get some around 75 (a no bath cabin and an Airbnb) and some were £300(airstream), so it roughly evened out to about that. Main tip would be to book cancelable rates so you can change bookings when sales or discount codes appear

hi for 2 adults would definitely be looking at airbnb. we have stayed in great places in San Fran(with of road parking free) and Monterey/pacific grove. Hi see you have 10 nights LA area would possibly question this as there is so much more to see. ie 2/3 nights Yosemite between San Fran and Monterey. also 2 n Monterey only gives you 1 full day ,with so much to see there , perhaps whale watching ,17 m dr ,aquarium ,pebble beech, carmel.. its a long way from Monterey to LA so perhaps a stop on route.

Hi!

We have so much we want to do in the LA/Anaheim areas -

Disney (3 full days)
Universal
Six Flags
Knott's Berry Farm
Warner Brothers Studio Tour
Santa Monica/Venice Beach
All your various typical Hollywood sightseeing (Walk Of Fame, sign, star houses, Griffiths Observatory etc etc)

We'd love to do Yosemite one day but choosing to tick lots of LA/Anaheim stuff of off the list this time.

(FYI, the LA section can be Santa Monica or surrounding areas, we're undecided yet)

The reason we are looking for a target average per night is because we MAY be able to squeeze in a 16th night somewhere (probably between Monterey and LA), funds dependent 😊

Yeah I think we will squeeze in one night between Monterey and LA 😊

Oh we are aware thanks 😊👍 huge Disney fans though and want to really take in everything! 5 nights in Anaheim = one day in Knott's Berry Farm, and 3 full days at Disneyland/California Adventure.

Madonna Inn - San Luis Obispo!

We set out for 200 per night avg in 2016 and ended up a little more than this (around 250).

We paid £120 for airbnb in pacific grove which was first class, in San Fran we stayed on chestnut st which is very central with free off st parking and paid £150 for an apartment which was a living room bed combination with separate kitchen and roof terrace looking to the bridge.
