I see Matalan have got a wooden Gingerbread House and a Rocket design in. Cost is £22.

Aldi have sold them as a Special Buy for the last few years but they always go fast.

Just ordered a gingerbread house with empty drawers for my nephew. Got it from Not on the high street but it's arrived damaged. Cute but what a faff to get it sent back.

I’ve bought the Aldi ones for the past 2 years.

At under £10 they are a bargain. There are usually 3 designs to choose from.

I first of all bought an illuminated white one with pine trees and cabin for DIL2B and a grey and white tall Nutcracker soldier for DS. Then last year I bought the train and trailer and a red nutcracker figure so that DIL2B could have them at the vets to fill with treats for the patients.

I’m waiting to see what the designs are this year!

Yes, they have to be filled but, not as posh as Giradelli, but both LIDL and Aldi do little cartons of chocolate spouts, mini teddies, snowmen etc.

I have the illuminated white one, it is great for the price, very stylish

We have had this one for about 5 years, the family love taking all the figures out day at a time. Let's say this will be passed down the family, might have to tell our son and daughter that they will have to share.

TKMaxx had some in today - wooden reindeers about 15" high. I only remembered when I'd left or I'd have taken a photo! They weren't expensive.

The Aldi wooden advent calendars are on sale in store on Sunday 3rd November so will be available to purchase online from Sunday 27th October.

As usual there are 3 to choose from. A white square with triangular top, illuminated and with fir trees and reindeer. A red, black and white nutcracker soldier and a green and red delivery van.
