Which I believe is Disney owned land but not really onsite. So that does make more sense. But the Formosa Gardens one is probably just as convenient.

I don't see the benefit either.
Just a little more erosion of staying in the Magic away from "the real world". |

If you care to walk from AKL (nearest WDW hotel I think) this one at Rolling Oaks is 0.7 miles away. Supertarget as well.
Joan and I can regularly be seen pushing a red cart round there after a Flo's filet at Longhorn. From memory we think there's a Disney area in there already since it was refurbed a couple of years ago. Mick

So they've gone from free resort parking to charging for it , now offsetting the backlash from people who like having a car by plonking a supermarket on site ?
Personally I'd rather they'd left resort parking for free and not bothered with a supermarket. I ßspect they may too as the loss in water/snacks sales in resorts and parks is likely to be more than the profit from overnight resort parking. Bad decision making all around. |

Indeed it is. You can turn right along Black Lake Road if you like just before you hit the 192. You'll come out on 192 opposite the new Margaritaville water park.
We eat around 80% of our meals in that area around Rolling Oaks Mick

Flamingo Crossing is at the Western Way entrance to WDW in a rapidly growing area. There is a huge building project there at the moment that I am 99% is new housing for the college and cultural exchange programs. There are no shops in walking distance so a Target there would make sense. It is quite close to the Rolling Oak one though.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are planning on increasing the number of young employees through these programs as they do struggle to recruit enough staff (except the highly rewarded table service wait staff!). These staff than pay alot of their wages back in rent as well. Edited at 07:29 PM. |

Flamingo Crossing will also house a lot of the CPs so having a Target is a bonus for them as well.
