Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens

In addition to the new Ice Breaker coaster coming to Seaworld, a new wood and steel hybrid coaster was announced yesterday, coming to Busch Gardens Tampa. Iron Gwazi replaces the old wooden Gwazi coaster and will be North America's tallest, highest and fastest hybrid coaster. Riders will be plunged from a 206 foot-tall peak into a 91-degree drop and reach top speeds of 76 miles per hour. The coaster will also include a dozen airtime moments, including three inversions, and will feature a maximum height of more than 200 feet tall.

Iron Gwazi is due to open in Spring 2020.

It looks awesome - when were there recently you could see the new track being built on top of the old ride.

Hopefully it will be a lot smoother as we felt like we�d been �battered� last time we went on it.

This is a RMC (Rocky Mountain construction) coaster so will be ultra smooth. RMC have recently been building some amazing extreme coasters which are regarded as some of the best in the world. Lots of airtime and extreme forces.

Search YouTube video of steel vengeance at cedar point to get get an idea of a coaster of this type.

The old Gwazi was a wooden coaster and old wooden coasters are renowned for being boneshakers.

This new version will be a hybrid and use steel track. It will mean the ride will be a lot smoother.
