Mobile Ba/avis flydrive Tampa... what now?

Excited to have finally booked our flights for next August. We are new to avis and ba having flown with virgin and Alamo last year.

I know avis do preferred... how do I sign up for it and link it to my ba booking?

Am I also correct that I have all insurances with ba? And that it's hubs as lead driver but as spouse I get to drive too?

Sorry for being dense. I just want to get it right!

Thanks!

You can join Avis Preferred on their website. Once you’ve joined, call BA and ask them to link your car hire with your Avis Preferred number. If you download the Avis app, it should show the car hire in your upcoming bookings.

As it’s your 1st time, your name won’t be on the board at the garage, but I would still head for the garage and go to the kiosk there to sort out your car. You’ll be allocated a car, and off you go. We prefer to pay for a tank of fuel so we can return empty - you can do this at the kiosk if you want.

Last time I was there first timers nams were on the board, but telling them to go to kiosk, so amounted to the same.

For those thinking of booking a BA fly-drive it is so much easier if you join avis preferred before booking. It only takes a couple of minutes and you get you avis number immediately. You then add it in the AVIS field when booking the fly-drive and it is automaticalled linked. So many people on thedibb seem to know about preferred, but make the mistake of joining after booking with BA.

Make sure you join BA Executive Club, also free, that’s what gives you the extra free driver

Forgot to add.

Yes, spouse can drive the car also. As Walkman58 mentioned if you join the BA exex club you can get an additional driver which is useful if you want a driver other than spouse also.

We often use it so DW and DD can drive also. DD is added to agreement free as Ba additional driver and DW is not added but can drive under AVIS T&C's.
