Chances of booking an 8am ADR for first day

Hi,

I was just wondering how realistic it is to be actually able to get an 8am ADR for our first day?

Obviously 8am reservations are a popular choice as it means early access to the parks, but people who are already staying at Disney and arriving up to 10 days before me will have had the option to book their ADRs for that day.

I have done a dummy run now for Crystal Palace for the furthest date I can look at for now and the earliest reservation is 8:40. What would happen if I arrived at 8am for that reservation? Would they seat us if they could?

Its an unknown answer im afraid. You may get an 8am booking, you may not. It really depends on how many people are wanting that slot and are booking 180 days in advance.
Even if you turn up at 8am for your 8:40 slot, doesnt mean you will be seated at 8:40. It depends on how slow or fast the other guests eat and take up the table. Turning up early means nothing, unless you are turning up to a restaurant that has only just opened, for example arrive at 5:00pm for a 5:25pm dinner.

Also, isnt 180 from today Spring Break, so maybe not a good example dummy booking?

Yes they usually let you in early. We always seem to be able to get 7am chef Mickey day 1. Bog may be trickier.
