For me a few days are showing a lot of rides as PM only for that week. You are looking at the 30 day FP window for a busy period so FPs will start going.

The DIBB's Fastpass Availability page says that on 15th October there are fps available in the morning for nearly all of the Tier 2 attractions. It's only Test Track, Soarin', Frozen and Mission: Space that don't have any morning availability.
It's the same if I look ahead 3 days from today instead of 29 days from today. If I look 30 days ahead, then all the rides have morning availability (and therefore currently 16th October has more availability than any day this week does). Having said that October does tend to be busier than September and therefore I'd expect fastpasses to be somewhat less available in Oct than Sept.

That's not an unreasonable assumption to make. I mean, it might be wrong, but I can see why you might make that assumption. It's not stupid - there is a reasonable rationale behind your thoughts.
The thing is, people tend to book fastpasses from the start of when they plan to visit on the hope that they can book more later on. So fastpasses earlier in the day tend to go sooner than those later in the day - even if lots of people are planning to go to EEH. Also, you might find that people are planning to go to a park in the morning, rest during the afternoon, and then go to EEH in the evening. In which case, they'll book fastpasses for the morning; you can't book fastpasses during EEH.
