Mobile Rental car damage question

Hi all, Out here now and someone has damaged the rear bumper on our rental car..
When I return the car will this be down to the rental car insurance or will there be any cost to us?
t.i.a. Ted

If you have CDW just hand it back, don't bother pointing it out, they won't bat an eyelid.

Unfortunately, not our experience at all!

Upon return at end of holiday the "Booth People" wanted to know why we had not in fact notified them on the incident day, which to be fair was the correct required action buried away in that stuff you are given upon arrival, but never actually read!

They stood over me whilst I filled out all their forms!... Insurance did settle everything so nothing further to pay, but our knuckles firmly and publicly rapped!

I agree. We had similar with the passenger door dented whilst parked unattended at the AK.
That car was brand new. I never told them when I dropped it back.

Now if it was major damage I would. I also tell them of any mechanical defects which they then write on the back window so the car goes out of service.

Were you hit while driving or when you were parked? Did the third party leave any details. If so contact rental ASAP as they will want details to claim back from third party.

If not then and not serious then I would just mention it when you drop car back.

Cheers

James

Ahh. For a caved in bumper I would have rung the National telephone number to report it. Slight damage I wouldn't but major damage I would

That almost certainly requires a Police report as a fail to stop accident by the other driver

OK thanks, think I’ve left it a bit late as it happened a week ago 😄
