So although Muppets, Indiana Jones, etc don't require fastpassing (usually), you will want to book one of them in order to enable you to book additional fastpasses on the day. You don't have to actually watch the show - just scan your band/ticket at the fastpass entrance to "use" it and then get booking a second tier 1 ride.

Agreed - this is exactly what we did because until you use 3 FP each day you cannot book another one!

It’s absolutely correct that using a fast pass for a show is a wasted fast pass.

So waste it.

Book that for first thing in the morning. If you don’t see the show it’s fine - and once the third fast pass is done then you can pick up more FP’s through the day.

This change makes DHS no different to Epcot where none of the tier 2 attractions need a fast pass.

we got round the system at Epcot by booking tier 2 fastpasses first thing and not using them

At least with Epcot there are a few other rides you can use them on.

Tbf Star Tours does get decent length queues at times and that is still Tier 2.
