Does this sound like a good plan?

Ok have decided next year we are having 3 weeks in Orlando in July. We want to stay at a Disney Hotel for 5 nights, a Universal one for 2/3 nights and the remainder at a villa. I thought the best way would be

Disney 5 days

Villa 13/14 day

Universal 2/3 days

Reasons are:

1. More relaxing at start to just get on bus and get to Disney
2. We are more likely to need a hire car at end of holiday for last minute shopping?
3. Closer to airport at end of the holiday
4. Won't need to hire a car for the first 5 days

Only down side I can think of is that we will have to live out of suitcase for last few days of the holiday.

Anyone else done this and what do you think?

Last year we did the following for 4 weeks

5 nights YC Just me and OH
5 nights Cabins at FW Me, OH and his 2 grown up daughters joined us for 14 nights
2 nights HRH
7 nights at the Embassy Suites Convention Center for the girls, 16 nights for us.
Personally I would do Universal before the villa, but that's just me

I would also do the villa last. When you say you are more likely to need a car at the end; does that mean you have a car in US? As they apply a parking charge per day.

Had intended not hiring a car until the end of Disney but then hiring it for the remainder of holiday (including days at Universal) as it will be easier to have car with cases to get to airport (than bus or taxi) and also if we need to do shopping near the end?

yes, and you're closer to the Premium Outlets and Mall of Millenia at US so that would be great for shopping from US
I just think you might feel cramped in the room once you have got used to the space of the villa, but then that depends on how many of you there are. With us, the room was packed to the rafters so I couldn't wait to get back to the villa!
