Question Alamo Sanford - Can you skip the counter?

First time flying into Sanford. We've booked a Standard SUV with Alamo via Brits Guide. Any advice for picking up here fellow Dibbers? I see that Sanford doesn't seem to be a 'Skip The Counter' location so does that mean we have to queue at the counter?

I'm in the same situation John...as far as i'm aware you can use the self service machines and take the printout straight to the garage bypassing the counter.

Yes, you can use the kiosk, but the staff prefer to guide you to the counter instead.

you can still check in online and save a bit of time that way. Last June the self check kiosks were not working but the queue was very small anyway. Saying that we were in the premium cabin with Thomson so first off anyway which helps !

If it gets busy they will start directing people towards the self check in kiosks

ive never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get served at the SFB alamo desk. most of the time theres only 1 or 2 people in front of me in the queue so its pretty much straight away...

ive certainly never thought "oh that queues massive, ill use the self-serve kiosk"

Same as above. I fill in the online check in, but never had to wait more than a few minutes for a counter. Really quick and easy process at Sanford 😊

Their desk is much more efficient than the one at MCO and you can use a Kiosk if it's one of the rare busy times.

As others have suggested, do online check-in to shave a bit of time off.

Thanks for all the reassuring replies. As I said this is our first time flying in to Sanford and in fact our first direct flight too (we usually fly BA from Glasgow via Gatwick to either MCO or more often Tampa, which is a great airport) so 'this' is all new to us.

I'd be keen to hear what cars people have got recently when picking up a 'Standard SUV' from Alamo?

The fleet will be broadly the same as MCO Alamo.

We had to get a mini van last time ( ) so I can't really help you as it's a couple of years since we had a standard SUV.

I will say that I much prefer going through SFB airport than MCO. Although it is a much more basic airport we seem to get through it far faster than MCO, which is the most important thing for me.

We've had a standard SUV the last two times from Sanford. We've had a Dodge Journey and a Ford Edge. Both were lovely to drive 😊
