Insurance for over 75's with multiple conditions?

Just as the title says really, does anyone have any recommendations of insurers for the over 75 year old with multiple conditions? My FIL has been quoted £400+ for a single trip, and yes he has some issues but it seems a lot, just wondered if any of you guys have any thoughts? for info he has had a couple of blood clots but that was over 15 years ago, has been hospitalized due to mental health issues and has a slow growing cancerous lump...

any thoughts?

My mum has used holiday extras, she is 82 and has quite a few health issues. It worth giving them a try. She has also claimed on them and they were, excellent.

For a 75+ to the USA with various health issues, £400 doesn't sound too bad.

I went last year (72) with many issues and was charged £210. most of my 'issues' however were quite historical and none were giving any trouble at the time. I'd had both knee joints replaced many years before but they were fine. I'd had a one off seizure seven years ago with no after effects but the things the insurance company didn't like were my benign essential tremor in my left hand (controlled by drugs) and my high blood pressure, again well controlled by drugs.

To add to the insurance company's concerns, I had a colonoscopy about a month before my holiday but all was well.

I had no problems in Florida and actually felt better than at home!
