Sub-£450 direct flights from manchester with virgin - realistic?

Looking at late April next year - paid about £550 an adult this year but felt we paid the top price as booked not long after release.

do you think its realistic to think we could get flights for under £450 for 2018? Or should I think £2k is a realistic estimate?

Thanks!

Hi,

We booked in December 2016 for our flight this September.

We got Virgin from Manchester. Economy on the way there and premium economy on the way back for £1,326.44 for two of us so just over £600 each.

If you aren't already (I assume you are as you seem to fly often) become a virgin flying club member so you can use miles as well as money. You can even link your Tesco clubcard to it so instead of Tesco vouchers you get virgin miles.

Guess it depends when you want to fly and when you book. Currently you can easily get return flights direct for under £540. So a sale would bring that down.
If you wanted to go November this year £422 is your direct flight price.

It's definitely possible to get flights at that price, we've certainly never paid more than 500 per person direct with virgin - but they are getting harder to lay your hands on each year

Hiya, I'm also looking for end of April 2018 and I watched the fares last year for travel this April. There were several times that VA had fares from Manchester at 373, and I'm really hoping for similar. One of those times was very beginning of August.

I'm hoping to pay as little as possible for my flight, hoping for under 400 and if VA fails then I'm just going to hold tight and book last minute with Thomson. I need to save a bit on flights to make up for the higher costs of everything else.

Probably due to the fact prices generally go up every year anyway!

I booked for November this year 2 weeks ago, I waited for a sale which are usually around bank holidays, and before sale my flight was 570 and during the sale I got it at 390 so wait for sales if you can

Think it depends when in April due to school holidays and where from in the UK.

School holidays are the near-absolute determinant of prices from the UK to Orlando. Outside school holidays and with a little flexibility on dates or airport your sub-£450 economy fare should materialise. If however you were planning to fly out and return during school holidays (inc half terms) you'd do well to find that fare indirect, Economy direct flights are more typically £800-£1000.

Put the flight into Skyscanner and set an alert with them. Continue to check regularly. Google flights is another good resource.

Late April 2018 is outside school holidays, both in UK and US, so you should be successful in your sub-£450 quest! Good luck...
