Saratoga or Old Key West?

Hi all,

I planning a multi site stay in October - spending some time at our home resort (AK) and a few days at BLT.

That leaves me with six days - and we had planned to stay at Saratoga. We've stayed there before and all loved it - but a part of me wants to try something new. So I'm looking at possibly changing this and trying OKW instead?

The two look quite comparable - but interested in what other Dibbers can tell me. Would you ever trade SS for OKW - and if so, why?

Thanks all

J

I'm an SSR devotee but, as this question is posed quite often, you'll find a fifty/fifty split.

After our first visit to SSR we were convinced that we would keep going back there.

This year however as we have more people with us we are trying OKW, so it will be interesting to see the difference between the resorts.

So far from my research OKW edges it on room size, while SSR has better dining at the hotel and is closer to Disney Springs

We love Old Key West and didn't enjoy SSR as much, but I can see how others full the other way. I love how laid back OKW is, the music and vibe in the pool. I found SSR a little more 'classy', which I thought I would prefer, but in the end didn't. Both are wonderful, so you can't really go wrong.

SSR just for the simple fact you can walk to Disney Springs.

We like to spend a lot of time there & when staying in the Congress Park area, you can be in Marketplace in a matter of minutes. The walk along the water is lovely too.

Both are excellent. OKW is more laid back I feel and I would stay there like a shot.
The only thing that lets it down is the bar is tiny and Olivia's albeit it serves excellent food sadly reminds me of a Cafe. But again their food is excellent.

Mind you, Mr. T. the bar at SSR is very disappointing. The gantry itself is just a "hole in the wall." I've never found it conducive to having a drink.

We prefer the look and atmosphere of OKW. I like the way the resort looks like a housing estate rather than a couple of blocks of flats/hotel complexes.

The CS at Goods to Go is what lets OKW down BIG time, but we're not planning on spending much time there.

We've recently got back from 2 weeks at OKW and stayed at SSR 3 years ago.
We spent time at SSR this time whilst OKW main pool was being refurbished.
We love them both! For us (with two boys 12 and 9) SSR just wins with more fun pools, a much bigger games arcade and being able to walk to Disney Springs. it's very close though and i would be happy to stay at either.

Mmm. Tony at that hole in the wall takes a lot of my money! Agreed the actual bar is dreadful but the seating area is nice.
As we all know the best bar on property is The Wave.
