what are my chances

right, we are planning for Aug 18 ( the last 2 weeks )

looking at New york for a few days ( most prob ) Sat - Tues or Wed
then fly down to Orlando

Now I have 2 weeks at Marriott VC to use, so we will stay at Cypress harbour again

to the question

What are the chances of me getting a studio at the GF or Poly from Tuesday of Wed for 4 or 5 days ? ? ? till the Saturday i guess
booking at 7 months

We've found studio availability easy at the Poly (even at peak periods). GF will be harder, but still possible.

We go that time every year but not tried GF or Poly. Not had a problem with BLT, BWV or AKL at all. Just changed some of our Boardwalk days last week to BLT for this year so still availability this close so there are places to be had if GF and poly aren't

what about renting through DVC if Disney don't directly have availability
Davids Vacation Club has a lot of good reviews.

We have never had a problem with the Poly even at 7 months.

I wouldn't do that, I'd want to use my own points so it didn't cost me any cash

You'll likely be fine Poly August 2018 bang on 7 months. I booked one 6 months out this year. VGF probably not, 1 beds very possible then though.

I'm not the OP, YorkshireT (to answer your previous post which you've edited). I would have checked on DVCMember.com though, you're correct.

Hi Karen sorry I'd thought he was asking about 2017 then got confused on your reply saying you would have used points. Then I realised he was asking about 2018 . I take it he isn't an owner then - or is he? Maybe he could clarify.

He is

I meant, I would use (my own) points rather than paying Dave's DVC Rentals to use someone else's but now I'm looking at the question without knowing Matt is an owner, I see why that was suggested

You of all people should understand the value of a point (and for the avoidance of doubt, I'm saying this in jest! )
