Florida after a pulmonary embolism - advice needed

I have had 2 DVT's, the first also included a PE, both pregnancy related, last one was 9 years ago. I am now on lifelong warfarin. I am taking the plunge in August and going to the US for the first time, since my DVTs. We have travelled to the Canaries quite frequently and also driven to the South of France several times. I spoke to my Dr before our first flight to the Canaries and she advised drinking plenty of water before and during the flight, getting up and moving around for 5 minutes every hour, no alcohol or caffeine. I will also wear compression stockings on the flight and for the first evening, plus taking warfarin as normal. Fingers crossed (but not my ankles as that is a definite no-no with DVT history ). Insurance has always been fine, it isn't noted separately as the insurers have always said they are happy as long as Dr has no concerns.

Did you see a haematologist when you had the blood clots? They are used to advising people on this.

You could ask your GP to ask for advice if not( I wouldn't expect the GP to necessarily have the answer)?

Hi everyone, thanks for all of your replies. I'm going to go back to my GP first before I book anything. Think I've realised I'm more worried about flying again than I thought. Hopefully that'll put my mind at rest.
