We stayed in Marathon years back in one of the small hotels that had a Burger King attached to it! (Howard Johnson's I think). Always wanted to stay at Coral Reef, be interested to know what it's like.

I hope it is nice.
To the OP. I know that we are planning to go to the turtle hospital and the local kayaking place does family kayaking tours so even with smaller kids this could be things that you could do. My kids are 14 and 18 , but would still enjoyed the turtle hospital at 5! Pat |

We stayed in Marathon twice when visiting the Keys. It is reasonably priced and centrally located to all the Keys. We explored from there. Key West is more adult-like. It is beautiful in the Keys!

We're visiting the keys in April. Our kids will be 11 & 14. We've decided to stay at marathon at the holiday inn there and do some visits to the turtle hospital, theatre of the seas, key west and take in some snorkelling and jet skis.

I agree with the majority of posters about Key West only really being suitable for kids during the day - myself and my husband went pre kids for 4 nights with 2 friends and we had a GREAT time, and if it was just us we would go back for a few nights, but as said, from about tea time onwards it really does become a bit of a party town, and while we might be visiting the Keys this time we won't be taking our 2 kids to Key West overnight as I think it's to adult for them (personal opinion based on what I saw), mine will be 9 & 5

Thanks everyone for your replies. Seems the general opinion is it's not suitable (yet).
Still plenty of disney'ing to be done, so won't rush into booking anything |
