We are self catering in an apartment so i am sure that will help also will be on a bit of a budget so was only going to eat out on the weekends anyway. I will just take each day as it comes and try be as sensible as i can
Many don't gain weight on holiday but after eating like there is no tomorrow struggle to return to eat more plain, natural and healthy food on return and end up gaining weight after. You work hard to better yourself and create healthy habits - well done for not willing to just throw them away and pig out as it's holiday!

well done for planning ahead!

I'm really worried about the food! I eat really healthily at home but love all the unhealthy choices and they look hard to avoid over there!
I'm not very good at leaving food so the large portion sizes might be a problem.
I think I might have to have a list of all the salad options in advance to stop me eating all the fries!

Salads are a bad choice I'm afraid; they come covered in dressing. Ranch dressing is especially bad.

I always ask for the dressing on the side, never been a problem with that.

I also get a plain baked potato, never loaded with the extras.

most places will accommodate request for salad on the side and while not as light as salad at home, it's better then burgers and fries washed down with milk shake

This is EXACTLY my problem and what happens to me I've realised it now though and am hoping I can be mroe careful now that I'm aware of the pattern.

It is possible but I would definitely recommend visiting a shop. We went to the SuperTarget last time which had a huge fresh produce section and a lot of healthy snack options. We bought lots of Naked smoothies and kept them in our fridge at the Beach Club. They were pretty cheap over there and we had them for breakfast. Also I highly recommend the fruit and veggies to snack on from the Target. I once bought a packet of raspberries in the Beach club shop and it cost over $9. I'm sure in Target for the exact same thing it was two for $6. Or something like that.

me too but that's why I plan to eat as much as possible as I do home

I will stick to prosecco instead of cocktails
I will skip the desserts with the very rare exception - may be once every second day and somewhat small size
I will drink water
Have salads
Load up on salads & veggies on buffets first plate. Second half veggies quarter protein quarter other things
trip to whole foods or to publix to load on healthy & yummy things as fruit

I think that you just have to have strong willpower and if you are like me, lose your appetite in hot weather!
I usually eat a light late-ish breakfast and then nothing (except perhaps a piece of fruit or a dole whip) until evening meal where I eat what I like, but usually seafood and jacket potatoes. I don't like desserts or sweet foods so that helps. Lots of water and criss-crossing of parks means that I usually lose weight and have lost up to 7lbs on one three week trip
